The area
The Municipality of Parga is the most touristic Municipality of Epirus and one of the top destinations in Greece with worldwide appeal. The beauties endowed by nature combined with its unique historical and mythological elements make it a pole of attraction and interest for thousands of visitors every year. Its location in the northwest of the country near the port of Igoumenitsa and very close to the airports of Akti and Ioannina and next to the road axes of Egnatia and the Ionian Road, give the opportunity for very easy access for anyone who wishes to travel.
In the Acheron Necromancy, in order for the visitor to have contact with the souls of the dead, he had to make offerings and bring them out of oblivion by giving them blood to drink. In addition, he had to undergo a multi-day test of mental and physical purification.
Arriving by land, sea or air, Preveza welcomes you and smiles at you. Where the clear blue Ionian and the calm Amvrakikos meet, the city-island of three castles, with a wonderful waterfront, a marina full of sailboats, dozens of restaurants and taverns, pedestrian streets and a historic center with refined shops, will charm you. Just outside the city, in ancient Nicopolis, we “meet” Octavian Augustus, Antony and Cleopatra.
Ancient Nikopolis was a city of Epirus founded by the Romans in southwestern Epirus near today’s Preveza. Its archaeological site is today the largest ancient city in Greece
